A Greater Awareness
Some things don’t work for everything, and what you have that works, you need to hang onto. The price for one thing versus another is held in the eye of the holder, and you may or may not need it, but once you find the value in something, you will see the treasure also. I’ve roamed to and fro across the earth looking for purpose and meaning and come up empty-handed; however, when I discovered myself, that was what I was looking for. So, I am settled on this one thing: a greater awareness of what is within me that needs expression in my waking life. This self-awareness, I've found, is the key to unlocking the purpose I've been seeking.
Jim, there is hope for some, and for others, keep showing up each day, and you will find your way. If you throw an object up in the air, you expect it to come back down immediately, and such is life. Some things are predictable, while others are not. But remember, even in the unpredictability, there is a certain predictability. There is one thing for sure: you reap what you sow. However, much of what you reap may have been caused by another, and in this case, you bear the burdens of another person’s choices, and some have suffered for you. You have taken your hits and carried on. Some will not get up after being knocked down repeatedly, and there’s not a lot you can do about this, so you let it be. While the winds of change are blowing in your life right now, other things about you remain the same and will always be with you wherever you go. Keep these truths close to your heart, and when you are old, they won’t depart because they were meant to stay with you to the end.
Even so, a day is coming, and this day is already here, that what you get out of life is also what you put into it. This means that the effort and energy you invest in your life will directly impact the outcomes you experience. If you want more out of life than logic would say, put more into life. However, some things have been gifted to you that you don’t have to work for, and you don’t have to manage. They are there and they will always be there, and you won’t be forgotten when you are old. Being forgotten is not for you or the journey you are on, and you will be known for more in your senior years than in your younger ones. The path you are on requires consideration, and that is something you have always done: consider a matter before walking away. Because you could give up something that was meant for you in the season you are in.
