Living with Eternal Wisdom

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
— Psalm 90:12 (NKJV)

On August 7, 2021, I asked the Lord if any of my cloud of witnesses had a word for me.

In a vision, I saw a light moving down the rows of witnesses until it stopped on Don. He was sitting at an old typewriter, and in large print appeared one powerful word: “WISDOM.”

In that moment, I knew the Lord was inviting me to seek wisdom for the season ahead.

I prayed,

“Lord, give me wisdom and help me navigate this next season of my life.”

And I believe He began to answer.

A Word That Echoes Through Time

Two years later, on June 7, 2023, a word from Don came again — through the same Scripture, Psalm 90:12:

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

If only we could stand in eternity and see our entire life — the beginning and the end — from Heaven’s perspective. But we live here, in the in-between, where our daily choices shape our eternal story.

Each day, we hold the power to choose how we will live — what we will hold on to, and what we will release.

The Power of Letting Go

Sometimes, we cling too tightly to things that belong to the past. That grip keeps us from living freely in the present.

There are moments when the Lord gently whispers,

“Let go… choose to live again.”

The world cannot give us what our soul truly needs. Only the Lord can lead us in the way we should go — holding us securely for eternity.

Our possessions, titles, and accomplishments will one day be left behind. They are not who we are.

Our true identity rests in Christ, and from that identity flows everything we do.

What Truly Lasts

At the end of life’s journey, we will carry only our soul and the connections we’ve formed — the lovememories, and relationships that shaped us. Everything else stays behind.

Yet what we deposit in others through love and faith continues on — and in that sense, we never truly die. Our influence becomes a seed that lives through generations.

A Prayer for Eternal Perspective

Lord,
Teach me to number my days and to live with eternal wisdom.
Help me to release what no longer belongs to me,
and to hold fast to what is true, pure, and lasting.
May my choices today carry eternal weight,
and may my life be a seed that bears fruit long after I’m gone.
Amen.

🌅 Reflection

Eternal wisdom is not found in the number of our days, but in how we live them. When we choose to see life through Heaven’s lens — to love deeply, to let go freely, and to walk humbly — we begin to live not just for today, but for eternity.
